Our story
Marouda's Secret Garden is two brand-new holiday apartments in Sykia (Sikia), Sithonia, in Halkidiki, Greece. They stand where grandmother Marouda kept her winter garden for generations, built with a single idea: to share this quiet place the way we have always known it.
You leave the main road, cross the little footbridge and the garden welcomes you. Around you are olive trees, fields and the mountain. A few steps further, the village square with its cafes and tavernas. The quiet of the countryside, without missing anything of village life in Sykia.

Our favourite spot
Under the high wooden roof, with an open view to the mountain and the lit houses of Sykia, the veranda becomes your favourite place. Here the morning coffee lasts for hours and dinner, with the cicadas for company, turns into the best moment of the day.

The location
Sykia is one of the most authentic villages in Sithonia, built amphitheatrically and far from mass tourism. Our apartments sit inside the village, in a quiet corner surrounded by greenery. You cross the little footbridge and reach the square in minutes, while the long beach of Sykia is only 4 minutes away by car.
After many years of holidays in Greece, they are the most attentive, kind and caring hosts I have ever met.
We had a wonderful holiday at Marouda's Secret Garden and I recommend this place without reservation to anyone looking for calm, comfort and exceptional hosts.
The house is in Sykia, in a quiet spot at the edge of the village. It is the ideal place for people who want to enjoy nature, away from the crowds, without being far from the beaches.
What impressed us most were the owners, Marouda and Dimitrios. They are always there to help, and their hospitality makes you feel more like a friend than a tourist.
The apartment is spotlessly clean, spacious and decorated with great taste. The kitchen is fully equipped and goes well beyond what you usually find in a holiday rental. The hosts also provide tea, coffee, sugar, honey, olive oil, salt and various spices, small details that make a big difference.
We particularly appreciated the fast and stable Starlink internet, the Smart TV, hot water always available, the spacious veranda, the large and beautifully kept yard, and the parking right next to the house.
The atmosphere is one of complete calm. In the morning you wake up to birdsong, and in the evening you can enjoy the cool air and the quiet, without the noise of the busy resorts.
For us this was far more than a place to sleep. It was the place where we truly felt at home. We will certainly come back and we recommend it with confidence to anyone looking for an authentic, relaxing holiday in Sithonia.
